We were pleased to complete an antique clock appraisal for a recent estate client. Dating from the late 18th Century, this fine example was made by the prominent English clock maker, Edward Pashler, who was one of the leading clock makers of the day. Surviving examples of his work are now very rare. It features Roman numeral silver tone dial signed ‘Edw. Pashler, London’, with date window and silent/chime dial. The flame mahogany case is fitted with brass urn finials above the arch top crest, and fluted columnar accents, complete with the original weights and pendulum. In well maintained condition and in good working order. Overall height is approx. 90”. Circa 1775-1780. Edward Pashler was a prominent clock maker in late 18th Century London, well known as a maker of quality bracket and musical clocks and is documented as working in the field of horology as early as 1766.

London was Europe's clockmaking epicenter through the 18th century, supported by the Clockmakers’ Guild (founded 1631) and technical pioneers across the city. It fostered an environment where craftsmen like Pashler could innovate and operate at high standards.
